Job description
This position leads the product team responsible for the company’s Microsoft 365 SharePoint-based workforce intranet, The Portal.The Sr Product Owner defines, delivers, and manages the lifecycle of products in a product portfolio. Leads the product team(s) developing the product(s). This position may be involved in the funding management and budgeting processes for the products and / or portfolio., * Define and manage the product roadmap, including evolving a vision for introducing new technologies as they become available.
- Build, groom and prioritize the product backlog, continuously managing expectations with relevant stakeholders - including the senior leadership team
- Manage the sprint planning process and participate in all relevant ceremonies (reviews of prior sprints, grooming, retrospectives, etc.)
- Develop a deep contextual understanding of employee and contingent worker needs, ensuring that the product prioritizes a user-centric design and architecture as it evolves.
- Gather market feedback through user interactions, focus groups, and by performing industry research to support future development. This includes meeting regularly with industry peers to benchmark efforts and share best practices.
- Write detailed functional specifications, user stories and product documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of developers, designers and analysts to implement and deliver new products and features
- Collaborate with the organization on vision, strategy, decisioning, tactical execution, and measurement systems
- Communicate roadmap stages and timelines internally with key stakeholders
- Develop and communicate site standards to a group of site managers distributed in the business. Train them on the same.
- Partner with site managers to foster strong relationships, enabling collaboration and alignment on shared goals that deliver value to the workforce.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree
- In addition to required degree, four (4) years related work experience
- In lieu of Bachelors degree(s) AND 4 year(s) related work experience listed above, High School/GED AND 8 year(s) related work experience, * 7 or more years working in the utility industry
- Experience as a Senior Product Analyst
- Agile Product Owner certification
- “Black Belt” Six Sigma certification
- Experience with Jira
- Experience with owning or administering Modern Microsoft SharePoint experiences and associated M365 applications (Teams, Lists, Power Automate, Forms)
- Experience with SharePoint analytics packages such as Tygraph
- Experience applying content lifecycle management principles to large volumes of managed content or knowledge
- Experience applying user experience and accessibility best practices in digital experiences, * Entrepreneurial with a strong inclination towards action, preferably with experience shipping software
- Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts to a new product development team
- Clear passion for topics of technology products and an ability to identify possibilities to innovate
- Ability to be self-directed and to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to build relationships and effectively influence across all management and organizational levels
- Strong understanding of the SDLC process and the ability to work in an agile environment with bi-weekly releases
- Experience with relevant new product or technology development experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Experience operating in an environment driven by KPIs where you have the accountability to determine the best course of action to meet your goals, No. This is not a Visa Sponsored Position. - Hybrid - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable commute to the designated Duke Energy facility.
