Test Automation Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks to support UI, API, and backend testing. You will embed quality across the SDLC by collaborating with developers, product owners, and DevOps, enabling fast, reliable releases. You’ll drive test strategy, choose automation targets, and ensure high coverage with modern tooling. This position emphasizes CI/CD integration, cloud/containerized testing, and continuous improvement. A strong, proactive tester will shape quality at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing * Identify test scenarios suitable for automation and maximize automation coverage * Develop automated test scripts using Java or Python * Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and system testing * Execute automated and limited manual tests when needed * Participate in requirement analysis, test planning, and test strategy discussions * Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices * Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, etc.) * Enable shift-left testing and continuous quality checks * Collaborate with DevOps teams for containerized and cloud-based test execution * Work in Agile/Scrum teams and provide clear test metrics and quality insights * Mentor junior QA/Automation engineers when needed Tasks * 5+ years in test automation / SDET roles * Strong programming skills in Java or Python * Experience with UI automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress) * Strong API automation experience (REST Assured, Postman, or similar) * Knowledge of BDD/TDD frameworks (Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, PyTest) * Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines * Familiarity with Git and version control workflows * Working knowledge of SQL and database testing * Experience testing microservices and distributed systems * Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP * Experience with Docker and containers (Kubernetes is a plus) * Understanding of performance and security testing basics (JMeter, OWASP concepts) Key requirements * remote or hybrid work options
