Test Automation Engineer

Experteer Overview As a Test Automation Engineer / SDET, you design and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing to raise software quality. You will collaborate with developers, product owners, and DevOps to embed quality into the SDLC and enable fast, reliable releases. You’ll work in an agile context, driving shift-left testing and continuous quality checks. This role combines hands-on automation with mentoring and process improvement to elevate testing across the team. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing * Identify test scenarios suitable for automation and maximize automation coverage * Create automated test scripts using Java or Python * Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and system testing; execute automated and limited manual tests * Participate in requirement analysis, test planning, and test strategy discussions * Ensure adherence to quality standards and best practices * Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) * Enable shift-left testing and continuous quality checks * Collaborate with DevOps for containerized and cloud-based test execution * Work in Agile/Scrum teams and provide clear test metrics and insights * Mentor junior QA/Automation engineers and drive continuous improvement Tasks * 5+ years of experience in test automation / SDET * 5+ years of strong programming skills in Java or Python * 5+ years of experience with UI automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress * 5+ years of strong API automation experience using REST Assured, Postman, or similar tools * Knowledge of BDD/TDD frameworks (Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit, PyTest) * Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines * Familiarity with Git and version control workflows * Working knowledge of SQL and database testing * 5+ years of experience testing microservices and distributed systems * Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP * 5+ years of experience with Docker and containers (Kubernetes a plus) * Understanding of performance and security testing basics (JMeter, OWASP concepts) Key requirements *
