Systems Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will lead the engineering development of commercial water chiller systems for data center applications and engineer-to-order projects. You will work with cross-functional teams to design, model, test, and optimize chillers and HVAC systems for efficiency and reliability. You’ll apply thermodynamics and heat transfer to meet market and customer needs, driving integration from concept to production. Compensation / Benefits * Drive analysis, conceptual design, and optimization of chiller systems for ETO and data center apps * Lead development of commercial water chilling systems and integration into NPD programs * Develop system architectures meeting product requirements and market needs * Apply thermodynamics and heat transfer to optimize HVAC systems * Perform thermodynamic-based modeling and optimization including pumping and filtration * Conduct thermal analysis and simulations across operating conditions * Support system integration, component selection, and performance optimization * Execute tests and analyze results against specifications and objectives * Collaborate with service, operations, product management, and design teams for launch * Mentor junior engineers and stay current with industry trends * Contribute to quoting and costing for special/ETO projects * Ensure compliance with ASHRAE, AHRI, and safety standards * Provide technical guidance across global teams and interface with customers/vendors * Work on BOMs with 3000+ parts and support design reviews * Participate in SAP transition and pilot projects for data management Tasks * Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering with design experience * 5+ years of mechanical design experience (Bachelor path) or 2+ years with Master * Strong thermodynamics and heat transfer knowledge * Proficiency with thermodynamic-based modeling (EES, Dymola) * Thermal analysis of chillers, HVAC, and heat exchangers * Experience with chiller modeling and tube-in-shell heat transfer * Refrigerant system performance analysis and compression applications * Proven project leadership and cross-functional collaboration * ETO experience and complex BOMs (3000+ parts) * Ability to analyze test data and present findings * Knowledge of ASHRAE/AHRI standards * Strong English communication and teamwork skills * Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred * Experience with data center cooling solutions preferred Key requirements * Medical, dental & vision * 401(k) plan * Life Insurance * Short and long-term disability * Health Spending Account (HSA) * PTO / paid time off
