Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you lead the design, validation, and release of thermal management components and subsystems for GM vehicles. You will work cross-functionally to ensure robust, cost-effective parts that meet performance and integration requirements, driving innovation and continuous improvement. You will manage supplier relationships, validation planning, and use analytical tools to validate designs. The role supports critical thermal systems that impact coolant and refrigerant performance, contributing to safe, connected mobility. Compensation / Benefits * Lead development activities for thermal components and subsystems * Release components to meet SOR, CTS, and SSTS requirements * Conduct design studies, analyses, and recommend direction based on cost, performance, mass, and manufacturability * Define ICD requirements and coordinate with interfacing components * Manage supplier relationships and ensure timely deliverables * Coordinate cross-functional activities with Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Validation, Calibration, Manufacturing, and Design teams * Support Product Development Team meetings and peer reviews * Ensure thorough validation of released components and establish a validation plan * Validate designs using analytical tools (FEA, CFD, modal analysis, virtual builds) * Ensure compliance with GM standards and program imperatives * Lead problem solving for production and launch issues * Capture lessons learned and apply to future designs * Stay updated on emerging technologies and support test programs Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Thermal Engineering * Minimum 5 years of experience in component or subsystem design and release * Strong understanding of thermal systems, HVAC, and fluid handling components * Proficiency in CAD (UGNX preferred) and Teamcenter * Experience with validation planning and execution * Strong communication and project management skills * Ability to travel up to 20% and operate a motor vehicle legally Key requirements * Total Rewards resources * inclusive workplace * accommodations * hybrid work model * opportunities for career growth * well-being programs
