Job description
The Central Data Governance team is looking for an experienced Data Management Change Manager
to strengthen the team. In this role, you will drive the sustainable adoption of the Data Governance
& Data Management framework across the organization. You will bridge the gap between data
management theory and key regulatory frameworks (BCBS 239, RDARR) on the one hand, and
effective business adoption on the other. You will translate principles and policies into practical ways
of working that become embedded in day-to-day operations. As such, you will act as the architect of
the organization’s data transformation change strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, lead and execute the change management strategy for the Data Governance
programme, applying a structured methodology (such as ADKAR or equivalent) to guide
teams from awareness through to the sustainable adoption of new behaviours.
- Bridge the gap between data management theory (roles, ownership, data lineage, data
quality) and effective business adoption by translating policies and guidelines into practical,
operational ways of working.
- Identify resistance to change, analyse its root causes, and implement targeted action plans in
collaboration with Data Owners, Data Stewards and Data Governance Managers.
- Define and deliver the Data Governance communication and training plan, including
workshops, awareness campaigns, mandatory training sessions and the Data Steward
Community, to foster a strong data culture across the organization.
- Measure the effectiveness of change initiatives using adoption and maturity KPIs, monitor
progress over time, and continuously adapt the approach based on outcomes.
- Embed change management into transformation processes, IT projects and strategic
initiatives, ensuring adoption is considered from the outset of every initiative.
- Drive innovation in engagement and adoption approaches by testing new formats, tools and
methods to accelerate the organization’s data transformation.
- Manage a long-term change programme involving multiple stakeholders across Business, IT,
Risk and Finance, ensuring alignment, continuity and measurable outcomes.
Requirements
- Proven experience (minimum medior level) in change management within a large
organization, preferably involving long-term, cross-functional transformation programmes.
- Strong knowledge of change management methodologies (such as ADKAR, Kotter or
equivalent) combined with a solid understanding of data management and data governance
principles.
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical and regulatory concepts into practical,
sustainable business adoption.
- Innovative, action-oriented mindset with the ability to experiment, adapt and drive tangible
results.
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across all organizational
levels.
- Experience managing large-scale, long-term transformation programmes and measuring
their effectiveness through meaningful KPIs.
- Excellent communication, organizational and facilitation skills, with the ability to work
autonomously and deliver results.
- Curious, adaptable, open-minded and comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving
environment.
