Job description

Experteer Overview As Director of Data & AI, you will define and lead Macmillan’s data and AI strategy to enable better decisions, personalised support, and greater impact for people living with cancer. You will shape governance, data foundations, and modern platforms, working across Technology, Insight & Performance, Fundraising, Partnerships and more. You’ll ensure AI adoption is safe, ethical and scalable while building high-performing teams. This is a mission-driven opportunity to transform how data powers the charity’s digital transformation and service delivery. Pay / Benefits * Develop and deliver organisation-wide Data & AI strategies aligned with mission and digital transformation * Strengthen data governance, quality, ownership and consistency across key business domains * Lead the development of secure, scalable data platforms enabling trusted insight and AI-ready datasets * Create frameworks for safe, ethical and responsible AI adoption across Macmillan * Identify, prioritise and deliver data/AI opportunities to improve decision-making, engagement and outcomes * Partner with senior leaders to embed data-informed decision making and maximise organisational impact * Advise the Executive Team and Board on strategic opportunities, investment and technology maturity * Build and inspire high-performing data/AI teams and enhance capability and literacy across the organisation Tasks * Significant senior leadership experience across data, analytics, digital and AI * Proven track record delivering enterprise Data, Analytics and AI strategies in complex organisations * Experience establishing strong data governance and creating trusted, reusable data assets * Deep understanding of modern data platforms, AI technologies, data architecture, governance, privacy and responsible AI * Experience building investment cases, prioritising transformation portfolios and measuring value * Ability to influence Executive teams, Boards and senior stakeholders * Experience leading organisational and cultural change for lasting transformation * Outstanding communication skills for non-technical audiences and collaborative leadership Key requirements * hybrid working (London) * salary range 120,000-128,000 * support with reasonable adjustments in recruitment process * inclusion and diversity initiatives * flexible and remote working options * recognition and benefits programs
