Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will transform complex transport and demographic data into actionable insights to guide regional planning and investment. You will contribute to the analytical framework behind transport policy and support decision-making across 16 local authorities. Your work will influence national investment decisions and help improve everyday journeys across the South East. This is a high-visibility, impact-driven role in a collaborative team focused on sustainable, inclusive transport outcomes. Pay / Benefits * interpret and analyze large, varied datasets to support decision-making * develop and refine the regional analytical framework for strategic transport planning * extract insights from the Regional Travel Surveys to inform policy and investment decisions * deliver tailored research projects aligned with the Transport Strategy and Strategic Investment Plan * communicate complex findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences * utilize GIS, data visualization platforms, and statistical software to produce meaningful outputs * collaborate with 16 local authorities and other stakeholders to turn data into evidence Tasks * strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with experience interpreting large datasets * proficiency in advanced Excel, GIS, and Power BI * experience handling large survey or model datasets with high accuracy * knowledge of at least one data-analysis language (SQL, VBA, Python, or R) * ability to communicate complex data clearly to diverse audiences Key requirements * apprenticeships available for staff * diverse range of benefits (refer to benefits page) * high-visibility, impactful work * fixed-term contract with potential extension pending funding * opportunity to work in a collaborative, cross-agency environment
