Job description
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using Cypress and JavaScript.
- Design and implement robust test automation frameworks and reusable test components.
- Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing activities.
- Collaborate closely with Developers, Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Delivery Teams.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and agile ceremonies.
- Identify, document, and track defects through to resolution.
- Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
- Ensure testing activities align with quality standards, governance, and best practices.
- Contribute to test strategies, test planning, and quality assurance processes.
- Provide clear reporting on test progress, coverage, risks, and outcomes.
Requirements
This role is ideally suited to testers with strong experience in JavaScript and Cypress, a passion for quality engineering, and a proven track record of working within cloud-based, agile delivery teams., * Strong experience in Test Automation Engineering.
- Proven hands-on expertise with Cypress.
- Strong development skills using JavaScript.
- Experience testing web applications and APIs.
- Experience creating and maintaining automated test frameworks.
- Understanding of software testing methodologies and quality assurance principles.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Knowledge of cloud-based environments (AWS preferred).
- Experience with Git and version control systems.
- Familiarity with performance or security testing practices.
- Previous experience working on government or public sector programmes.

The successful candidates will typically demonstrate:
- Independence in planning and delivering testing activities.
- Responsibility for the quality and effectiveness of assigned work.
- Ability to identify and resolve testing challenges with minimal supervision.
- Effective collaboration across technical and non-technical teams.
- Contribution to continuous improvement of testing standards, frameworks, and processes.
