Cloud Operations Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will help ensure Mimecast’s Hybrid Cloud infrastructure is secure, reliable, and scalable. You will operate Kubernetes and AWS EKS to support a microservices-driven platform, and build reusable IaC to standardize provisioning and deployment. You will troubleshoot Linux and Kubernetes issues in a hybrid environment and contribute to security improvements and documentation. This role offers cross-functional collaboration, on-call exposure, and opportunities to grow in a global security-focused cloud team. Pay / Benefits * Ensure platform reliability through optimized infrastructure for performance, security, and availability. * Operate and improve Kubernetes and AWS EKS to support microservices. * Automate infrastructure using IaC to standardize provisioning and deployment. * Troubleshoot infrastructure issues across Linux and Kubernetes in a hybrid cloud. * Strengthen security posture of infrastructure configurations. * Refine operational processes and documentation with the team. * Maintain observability tools (Graphite, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, Nagios, LogScale). * Support internal Product and Engineering teams to meet platform needs. * Participate in on-call rotations and perform out-of-hours maintenance as needed. Tasks * Experience in SRE/Platform/Cloud Operations or Sys Admin roles. * Strong hands-on Kubernetes and containerization in production. * Proficiency in Linux administration and troubleshooting at scale. * Solid understanding of core infrastructure services (DNS, Identity Management, load balancers, web servers). * Foundational networking knowledge. * Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform/CloudFormation) and configuration management (Puppet). * Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language. * Proactive, collaborative problem-solver with quick learning ability.
