Job description

The Technology Vendor Manager is primarily responsible for overseeing all vendor relationships and purchasing activities related to hardware, software, telecommunications, and IT infrastructure. This position ensures that technology vendors deliver maximum value to Sunstate by managing performance, optimizing spend, and aligning procurement strategies with corporate IT goals. The role will work closely with the IT Department, Procurement, and Finance to ensure that all vendor partnerships operate within agreed contractual terms, drive cost efficiencies, and support innovation and reliability across the technology environment. This position may also have responsibility for addition non-technology related vendors., * Drives the company’s core values and procurement excellence every day.

  • Manages vendor relationships for all IT and technology suppliers, including hardware, software, cloud, and infrastructure providers.
  • Negotiates pricing, terms, and service-level agreements (SLAs) that deliver measurable cost savings and performance improvements.
  • Develops and maintains vendor scorecards and performance metrics to ensure vendors meet contractual and operational expectations.
  • Leads vendor reviews and quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key suppliers.
  • Collaborates with IT and Procurement teams to forecast technology needs, manage renewals, and identify opportunities for consolidation or optimization.
  • Monitors and manages total cost of ownership (TCO) across the IT vendor portfolio.
  • Ensures compliance with company procurement policies, data security requirements, and licensing agreements.
  • Researches and recommends emerging technologies, vendors, and sourcing strategies to improve efficiency and service quality.
  • Supports onboarding of new vendors and the implementation of new technology products or services.
  • Partners with Finance and Legal teams to manage contracts, renewals, and risk mitigation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years of IT procurement, vendor management, or technology sourcing experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex software and infrastructure contracts.
  • Strong analytical and financial acumen.
  • Proven ability to drive cost efficiencies and vendor performance improvements.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including presentation skills.
  • Advanced data analysis and reporting capabilities (Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar).
  • Proficiency with procurement and contract management systems.
  • Understanding of IT hardware, software licensing models, and cloud service agreements.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and vendor relationships simultaneously.
  • Strategic thinker with attention to detail and cost control discipline.
