Job description

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer to support a high-impact healthcare technology initiative for Centene. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks for enterprise applications, APIs, and backend systems., * Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts and test suites.

Build and enhance scalable and reusable automation frameworks.
Automate functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end test scenarios.
Develop automated tests for web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
Create and maintain API automation scripts for RESTful services.
Perform automated database validation using SQL queries.
Integrate automation suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.
Analyze automation failures and troubleshoot application and framework issues.
Identify, document, and track defects using Jira or similar tools.
Maintain automation scripts as application functionality evolves.
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other QA engineers.
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.
Generate automation execution reports and communicate test results to stakeholders.
Continuously improve test coverage, automation reliability, and execution efficiency.

Requirements

6+ years of experience in QA Automation / Software Test Automation.
Strong hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, or Playwright.
Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks from scratch or enhancing existing frameworks.
Hands-on experience with API automation testing using Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP methods, and web services.
Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber is preferred.
Experience integrating automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
Experience with Git/version control.
Strong SQL knowledge for automated database/backend validation.
Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar defect-management tools.
Strong understanding of automation testing methodologies and best practices.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
