Job description

Experteer Overview As an EHV Project Construction Engineer, you will deliver construction activities for UK Power Networks’ assets across 400V-132kV. You’ll work within the Investment Delivery/Capital Programme team to support project delivery, budgets, and safety standards. You will coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and contractors to complete HV construction work on time and to quality targets. The role offers exposure to major substation and cabling projects and a clear path to impact asset performance and reliability. This is a hands-on, safety-driven role in a large utility transforming its grid. Pay / Benefits * Coordinate daily construction and maintenance activities to meet programmes * Support budgeting and cost control for construction delivery * Supervise contractors and on-site activities for HV projects * Maintain safety, CDM, and UK Power Networks health policies on site * Operate and maintain HV distribution protection and control systems * Document and update asset databases for project activities * Identify and manage project risks and opportunities * Provide technical support and deputise for Construction Manager when needed * Engage with clients, stakeholders, and contractors in project delivery * Contribute to Asset Portfolio Plan and long-term delivery strategy Tasks * Senior Authorised Person (preferable) * Experience with distribution systems 400V-132kV * Electrical Engineering education (HNC or equivalent) * Working knowledge of HV systems and building services * Ability to read schematics and diagnose issues * Full driving licence * Willingness to travel within the SPN portfolio * Safety qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH desirable) Key requirements * £84,160 salary * car or car allowance * 3% bonus * private medical cover * personal pension plan with employer contributions * annual leave 23 days plus bank holidays and reservist leave
