Experteer Overview In this role you join a cross-disciplinary team to lead bioinformatics methods and build digital twins for MND clinical trials. You will develop and test simulated models, work with clinical and statistical colleagues, and ensure data handling complies with ethics and privacy in a Trusted Research Environment. You will explore multiple modelling approaches, including AI and large language models, to support trial design and potential placebo-effect evidence. This position supports the Precision ALS initiative within TRICALS and aims to accelerate progress toward a cure. Pay / Benefits * Lead bioinformatics methodology for digital twins in clinical trials * Develop and test simulated digital twins models and relevant code * Run simulations using various modelling approaches (simulation, AI, deep learning, LLMs) * Handle clinical trial data with confidentiality and ethics requirements in a Trusted Research Environment * Validate models against real-world populations from national registers and trial data * Model disease progression factors (waiting times, heterogeneity, correlated features) and assess data source biases * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (clinical, statistics, computing) to optimise trial designs Tasks * PhD in a relevant subject area * Post-graduate degree in computing, informatics, bioinformatics or related subject * Strong understanding of clinical/biological datasets and data modelling * Experience in simulation, AI, deep learning, large language models, and statistical methods * Experience as the technical expert in a multidisciplinary team Key requirements * Professional development leave (10 days pro-rata) * Fixed-term contract until 05/11/27 * 35 hours per week * London Weighting included * Access to Trusted Research Environment * Collaboration within a leading international MND research network
