2nd line Storage Engineer - Defence

An exciting opportunity has become available for a 2nd Line Backup & Storage Engineer to join a major technology organisation supporting a large-scale, secure enterprise environment.

The role will involve the day-to-day support, management and development of enterprise storage and backup platforms across multiple data centre sites. You will resolve incidents, service requests and problem tickets, while ensuring the continued availability, performance and resilience of the storage estate.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with technologies including NetApp, Cohesity, VMware, NAS and SAN, with strong support for professional development and continued upskilling.

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale storage or backup environments
• Knowledge of NetApp storage platforms and associated hardware
• Good knowledge of NAS and SAN principles
• Experience or understanding of VMware integration with NetApp
• Ability to investigate and resolve Severity 1 and Severity 2 incidents
• Experience contributing to root cause analysis
• An understanding of capacity management, monitoring and reporting
• Experience working with service desk tickets, SLAs and change-control processes
• Strong documentation, communication and knowledge-sharing skills
• Willingness to work fully onsite in Stevenage
• Eligibility to obtain UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance

• Salary of up to £43,000
