Data and Analytics Engineer

Experteer Overview As a Senior Data and Analytics Engineer at Severn Trent, you will design and build robust data pipelines, ETLs, and data models to power reporting, analytics and predictive insight. You will work with Azure Synapse, Data Bricks, AWS, SQL and Python to deliver actionable data products and automate reporting. You will lead data and analytics projects, engage stakeholders across the business, and translate complex needs into scalable solutions. Your work drives performance improvements and supports a sustainable, inclusive culture. You’ll have the chance to shape how data enables impact across environment and communities. Pay / Benefits * Design and develop robust data pipelines, ETLs, triggers and functions using Synapse, Data Bricks, AWS, SQL or Python * Create and maintain reporting, analytics and dataflows with Power BI and related tools * Lead and support performance improvement and technology projects using data analysis * Engage with stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions * Identify value-add opportunities for reporting or automation and own delivery end-to-end * Exploit cutting-edge AI tools (LLMs/Agents) to solve problems quickly * Collaborate with teams to apply data science, ML and predictive analytics where relevant * Promote strong data engineering practices (code review, testing, version control) Tasks * Experience designing and developing data pipelines and ETLs using Synapse, Data Bricks, AWS, SQL or Python * Deep reporting and analysis experience with Power BI to create complex reports and dashboards * Strong understanding of database and data warehouse fundamentals and software engineering practices (GitHub, version control, testing) * Ability to engage stakeholders and translate needs into data solutions * Proactive, ownership-driven with end-to-end delivery responsibility * Experience using AI tools and solutions to improve processes * Knowledge of Power Platform (SharePoint, Forms, Power Automate, Power Apps) is advantageous * Strong communication and relationship-building skills Key requirements * 28 days holiday + bank holidays (buy/sell up to 5 days/year) * Annual bonus scheme (up to 2250, subject to eligibility) * Maternity and adoption leave * Pension scheme (employer contributions up to 15%) * Sharesave scheme * Training and development through Academy
