Senior Software Engineer /x) - Broadband CPE Triage

Experteer Overview In this role you will advance software for broadband CPE across DSL and fiber networks, addressing complex faults from design to deployment. You will work with cross-functional teams including Field Service, NOC, and vendors to diagnose issues and implement robust solutions. You’ll document designs, set testing standards, and support fault clearance while improving how we deliver reliable CPE services. Pay / Benefits * Develop and improve software for complex broadband CPE products and services across the full development lifecycle * Analyze, diagnose, and resolve L2/L3 faults in modems, routers, and ONTs; perform performance, configuration, log, and packet analyses * Collaborate with product owners, field service, NOC, and vendors to define requirements and implement solutions * Document software solution designs and define standards for system tests and test automation * Install and configure software for complex products; drive fault analysis and clearance; provide cross-team technical support * Work with international teams and manage strategically relevant projects * Prepare technical documentation and root-cause analyses; contribute to engineering builds with fixes * Set up lab/test environments to reproduce issues and validate fixes with engineering builds * Utilize AI tools in day-to-day workflows to enhance efficiency and capability * Demonstrate willingness to travel and collaborate across Deutsche Telekom’s national companies Tasks * Extensive experience with traditional and agile collaboration with Field Service, NOC, vendors, and other technical departments * Leadership of strategically focused telecom/ISP projects * Expert knowledge of DSL and fiber technologies (ADSL, VDSL, GPON, FTTH) * Strong TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VLAN, PPPoE, and WLAN troubleshooting knowledge * Experience with network and system description languages and object-oriented programming languages * Hands-on with development, change/configuration management tools and diagnostic/monitoring tools (Wireshark) * Proven ability to perform structured root-cause analyses and produce technical documentation; TR-069 or WebPA knowledge preferred * Ability to set up labs/test environments to reproduce issues and validate fixes * Proficiency in German and English at least C1; willingness to travel * Part-time availability option; consideration for severely disabled candidates Key requirements *
