Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will protect and optimize the Oregon DOC network infrastructure, ensuring security, reliability, and regulatory compliance. You’ll collaborate with program managers and IT staff to translate business needs into secure networking solutions. You’ll address incidents, enhance connectivity, and influence department-wide security policies. This is a hybrid role with opportunities to shape a critical public sector IT environment and its impact across multiple sites. Compensation / Benefits * Support the AICnet and DOC staff network with aligned policies and procedures * Plan, configure, and maintain network, cloud, and security resources including firewall rules * Provide advanced on-site or remote troubleshooting for wired and wireless connectivity * Diagnose and resolve connectivity across cloud and on-prem systems (VPN, DNS, authentication) and coordinate with providers * Install, upgrade, configure, and document core network devices (switches, routers, WAPs, controllers, firewalls) * Administer firewall rules, ACLs, and VPN configurations with regular reviews * Contribute to department-wide technology policies to maximize network availability Tasks * Four (4) years of information systems experience in technical support * Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or two (2) years of information systems experience if vocational training, OR Bachelor’s degree may substitute for all above * Experience with Cisco networks * Experience with Fortinet security infrastructure * Experience supporting thin client/virtualized environments * Working knowledge of firewall administration (rule management, VPN configuration) and cloud platform support (cloud infrastructure, IAM, cloud networking) * Experience working with ticketing systems * Hands-on experience installing, upgrading, configuring core network hardware (switches, routers, WAPs, controllers, firewalls) * Proven experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise network environments including VPN, DNS, authentication, and wired/wireless connectivity across sites Key requirements * Health, vision, and dental insurance * Vacation, sick leave, and 11 paid holidays * Military leave (21 days) * Disability options * Fully paid retirement program * Oregon Saving Growth Plan
