Job description

  • The Manager, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) oversees multiple human resources information systems including HR/Payroll, talent acquisition, performance management, etc. while ensuring data integrity and adherence to employment laws (GDPR, ACA, Wage & Hour, etc.) and all other regulatory requirements. This role manages system configuration and maintenance, reporting, data interfaces and integration, and security, acting as the liaison between HR, IT, payroll, and legal teams to automate processes and maintain data accuracy and privacy. This role will maintain the highest operational efficiency including monitoring risk while ensuring adherence to company policies, accreditation guidelines, data privacy and protection, federal/state/local government requirements and labor regulations. In addition, the Manager, HRIS manages departmental staff’s performance and personnel actions and decisions, ensures department goals are met, acquires extensive knowledge of departmental processes and procedures, ensures accuracy of processing/reporting of employee data. Advises HR leadership and team members, identifies issues, and recommends actions to address and resolve concerns. Reports to the department leadership., + Oversees and manages the daily operations, configuration and upgrades of HRIS platforms with the goal of achieving the highest operational efficiency and accuracy.

  • Ensures all HR data practices comply with company policies, accreditation guidelines, data privacy and protection, federal/state/local government requirements and labor regulations.
  • Oversees and manages data reporting and analytics including generating, analyzing and presenting accurate and meaningful HR metrics, data and reporting.
  • Oversees and manages all employee and contingent labor records, personnel actions and data entry including new hires/rehires, transfers/promotions, separations.
  • Ensures data integrity, creating/running audit reports to identify potential system and data issues and leads process improvement initiatives including onboarding, offboarding, benefits, compensation, and performance management functions.
  • Develops standard and ad hoc reports, templates, dashboards, scorecards, and metrics in support of HR and others across the organization.
  • Manages standard/ad-hoc/customized reporting, ensuring the highest level of data integrity.
  • Leads new and existing technology implementation, configuration, testing, integration, optimization, upgrades, enhancement, improvement, and maintenance of all HR systems and processes, including the coordination and management of cross-functional dependencies between onboarding, benefits, IS, finance (payroll) and other departments affected.
  • Provides end-user support, including creating documentation such as job aids and user guides for current and future systems; establishes and maintains system user procedures and guidelines.
  • Provides technical support, troubleshooting and guidance on system utilizations to HR team members.
  • Acts as the primary contact for HRIS software vendors to troubleshoot issues and implement updates.
  • Keeps abreast of current data management HR technology, employment laws, and security as it relates to related applications and systems. Proactively researches and advises HR leadership on policies, procedures and practices to ensure compliance.
  • Monitors designated HR processes for risk including personnel file maintenance (archive and retrieval), unemployment claims, corrective actions (CA), verifications of employment (VOE’s), property retrieval process, federal exclusion screen program, affirmative action (AA), I-9 and immigration, grievance process and exit interviews.
  • In collaboration with HR leadership and management, provides administrative support for employee related legal matters, inquiries and investigations by external regulatory agencies.
  • Stays current on employment law and employment trends.
  • Leads, manages, coaches, and trains a team or department, provides guidance, support, and mentors to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
  • Oversees the recruitment, hiring, team/department orientation, performance appraisals and disciplinary actions including up to termination processes for a team or department.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Preferred Licenses and/or Certifications o PHR, SPHR or other HR related certifications preferred.

  • MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Required Education and Experience o Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Human Resources, or another related relevant discipline required. o Minimum of five (5) years of progressive HR experience in HRIS management, database administration or HR data analytics required.

  • Preferred Education and Experience o Experience implementing new technologies is strongly preferred; especially with Workday and/or Oracle.

  • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities o Strong working knowledge of company policies, accreditation guidelines, data privacy and protection, federal/state/local government requirements and labor regulations. o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including developed skills in providing innovative and creativity by continually improving processes and systems. o Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, organizational (including keen attention to detail) and technical support skills. o Strong work planning, time and management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines and deliverables. o Strong proficiency in MS Office products and understanding of database concepts and construction. o Demonstrates ability to work both independently and collaboratively. o Demonstrates ability to perform multiple tasks and constantly changing priorities by effectively balancing competing priorities to fulfill stakeholder expectations. o Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced changing environment.

  • Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
