GMD Ground Systems Principal Systems Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will join the MDA/GMN Systems Engineering team to define performance requirements for the GMD Ground System. You will help plan current and future capabilities for Ground Support Systems interfacing with siloed missile fields, ensuring requirements alignment across stakeholders. Your work will influence system-level design, verification, and integration in a fast-paced defense environment. This is a mission-driven opportunity to shape the GMD ground architecture and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Compensation / Benefits * Develop and manage requirements for GMD Ground System and its interfaces within the SE flow down * Review proposed changes to higher-level specifications for impacts on the GSS baseline * Examine peer deliverables, drawings, models, and specs for consistency with GSS baseline * Coordinate with GMD Warfighter, Ground Based Interceptor, Next Generation Interceptor, and GSS SMEs to develop new or modified requirements * Develop inputs to cost estimates and analyze schedule impacts of changes * Present technical, cost, and schedule implications to advocate for acceptance or rejection of changes * Coordinate with MDA stakeholders to resolve issues related to MDS system requirements * Translate MDS Core Standards and Cybersecurity/MA processes into GSS requirements * Review GSS contractor decomposition of requirements into Prime Item Development Specifications and associated verification products Tasks * Master’s Degree in Engineering * 12+ years of experience in complex system-of-systems or missile defense engineering * Active Secret clearance or higher * Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and DOORS * Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Key requirements * medical * dental * vision * 401K with company matching * 9/80 work schedule * paid holiday shutdown
