Data Scientist - Operations Research

Experteer Overview In this role you advance translational research in image-guided surgery by collaborating with clinicians, engineers, and scientists. You contribute to developing and translating advanced imaging, analysis, and registration methods for surgical care, with primary impact in orthopaedic and neurosurgery. You work across clinical and research teams to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in operations. Compensation / Benefits * Collaborate with clinicians, engineers, data scientists, and partners on surgical data science initiatives * Support surgeons and collaborators in orthopaedic and neurosurgery with data-driven insights * Assist supervisors with reports, grant requests, and research activities * Plan and execute experiments; interpret and communicate results * Develop computational modeling approaches related to surgical data science * Work with clinical hardware/software, imaging platforms, and surgical robots * Capture and curate multidimensional clinical data; utilize EMR/EPIC and PACS * Design and maintain data pipelines; build analytics tools for the team * Supervise technicians and participate in workflow analysis, risk assessment, and systems integration * Support requirements specification and risk mitigation activities Tasks * Systems engineering and systems integration experience * Workflow analysis, process mapping, human factors engineering * Clinical data analysis, requirements management, risk management * Unsupervised learning, decision trees, and NLP * Programming in Python and/or Matlab * Statistical analysis and advanced data science techniques * Experience in clinical operations/workflow in surgery, radiology, or related fields (preferred) * 3 years of scientific software or industry development/analysis experience (or 1 year with Master’s; PhD with no experience) Key requirements * Employer-paid medical coverage starting day one * Tuition Assistance Program * Accruals for PTO and Extended Illness Bank * Wellness programs and employee resource groups * Defined-benefit pension * Employer-paid life and disability insurance options
