VMware Systems Administrator (5295)

Experteer Overview In this onsite role, you will maintain and optimize VMware-based infrastructure to support DoD missions at Patuxent River NAS. You will work with a skilled team to manage virtualization, servers, and IT equipment while ensuring security and reliability. You’ll implement automation, backups, DR plans, and documentation to sustain mission-critical systems. You will contribute to DoD IA practices and collaborate with cross-functional customers to deliver dependable IT support. Compensation / Benefits * Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, and other technologies * Deploy and maintain physical and virtual hardware infrastructure, including VMs and containers * Perform routine maintenance and configuration changes to physical and virtual hosts * Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software on servers, workstations, and IT equipment * Maintain system backups and disaster recovery plans * Manage user accounts and permissions * Deploy and maintain software applications * Troubleshoot technical issues * Maintain documentation (knowledge base, incident actions, system configurations) * Provide technical support and guidance to customers * Work with DoD IA practices, including STIGs, patching, backups, and ACAS scans Tasks * 3+ years of systems administration experience including VMware/vSphere Enterprise * Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting virtual machines and hosts * Networking experience * Experience with Windows and Linux server operating systems * Clearance Required: Top Secret; Secret required to start Key requirements * health insurance * paid leave * retirement
