Experteer Overview As a Linux System Administrator, you will support an embedded lab environment at NAS Patuxent River, ensuring systems are secure and compliant. You will work hands-on with hardware, OS, and applications, applying STIGs, patches, backups, and vulnerability scans. You will build automation with Ansible and develop Linux scripts to streamline administration. This role blends hands-on lab support with security-focused processes in a collaborative team. You will contribute to mission-critical operations that keep lab systems secure and operational. Compensation / Benefits * Provide hardware support for deployed lab systems * Install, configure, and support operating systems and application software * Perform compliance tasks including STIG application, patching, backups, and vulnerability scanning across lab devices * Develop and maintain Linux scripts for system administration tasks * Create and maintain Ansible playbooks for automation of administrative and compliance activities * Troubleshoot issues across hardware, OS, applications, and network connectivity * Collaborate with other admins and engineers to maintain security and operation of lab systems Tasks * Secret clearance * Must be able to obtain and maintain Top Secret * 3+ years of related experience * Onsite work at NAS Patuxent River (CWS eligible) * Proficiency with Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu/Solaris/CentOS) * Proficiency with Linux shell scripting * Experience with Ansible * Foundational troubleshooting and critical thinking * Ability to follow established processes for compliance, configuration, and documentation Key requirements * health insurance * paid leave * retirement
