Job description
- Music Client is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join the Music Videos (MTV) squad within our Music X organization. You’‘ll help support our mission to give artists the tools to reach fans through video on the world’’s largest audio streaming platform. If you’‘re interested in shaping how music creators publish, manage, and grow their video presence on Music Client, come join us.
- You’‘ll get a unique opportunity to work across the stack on systems that power music video delivery to hundreds of millions of listeners. This is hands-on product engineering: you’‘ll own features end-to-end, from the React UI in Music Client for Artists to the backend services and data pipelines that process and serve video at scale., * Be a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional agile team, continuously experimenting, iterating, and delivering on new product objectives.
- Build and maintain full stack features on our Music Client for Artists platform serving hundreds of thousands of music creators globally.
- Design, develop, and operate backend services (Java/Kotlin) alongside frontend experiences in React/TypeScript.
- Own the reliability and performance of video ingestion, transcoding, and delivery pipelines that serve content to Music Client global user base.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and data science to solve interesting problems around video publishing, creator tooling, and content operations.
- Participate in the Music Client -wide engineering community, contributing to shared libraries, standards, and best practices.
- Be a technical leader within your team and a voice for engineering quality across the org.
Requirements
- You have 3+ years of professional software engineering experience working across frontend and backend systems.
- You’‘re proficient in TypeScript/React on the frontend and comfortable building services in at least one backend language (Java, Kotlin, Python, or Go).
- You have a solid understanding of distributed systems, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform preferred).
- You know and care about sound engineering practices: continuous delivery, observability, defensive programming, and automated testing.
- You’‘re comfortable with ambiguity and can take a loosely defined problem, break it down, and ship iteratively.
- You’‘re experienced working with modern infrastructure and tooling (containers, CI/CD, infrastructure as code).
- You communicate clearly and work well with cross-functional partners.
