Audio Streaming Backend Kotlin Front End Software Development Data Pipelines

Job description

Our client is looking for a Full Stack Engineer to join the Music Videos (MTV) squad within their Music X organization. The team’s mission is to give artists the tools they need to reach fans through video on one of the world’s largest audio streaming platforms.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how music creators publish, manage, and grow their video presence. You’ll work across the full technology stack on systems that power music video delivery to hundreds of millions of listeners worldwide.

This is a hands-on product engineering role where you’ll own features end-to-end-from building React experiences within the artist platform to developing backend services and data pipelines that process and serve video at scale.

What You’ll Do

  • Work as a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional Agile team, continuously experimenting, iterating, and delivering new product experiences.
  • Build and maintain full stack features for an artist-facing platform serving hundreds of thousands of music creators globally.
  • Design, develop, and operate backend services using Java/Kotlin, while also building frontend experiences with React and TypeScript.
  • Own the reliability, scalability, and performance of video ingestion, transcoding, and delivery pipelines serving a global user base.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and Data Science to solve complex problems related to video publishing, creator tools, and content operations.
  • Contribute to the broader engineering community through shared libraries, engineering standards, and best practices.
  • Serve as a technical leader and advocate for engineering quality within your team and across the organization.

Requirements

  • You have 3+ years of professional software engineering experience working across frontend and backend systems.
  • You’re proficient in TypeScript and React and comfortable building backend services in at least one language such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or Go.
  • You have a strong understanding of distributed systems, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure; GCP experience is preferred.
  • You value strong engineering practices, including continuous delivery, observability, defensive programming, and automated testing.
  • You’re experienced with modern infrastructure and development tooling, including containers, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.
  • You’re comfortable working through ambiguity, taking loosely defined problems, breaking them into actionable pieces, and shipping iteratively.
  • You’re a clear communicator who works effectively with cross-functional partners across Product, Design, Data Science, and Engineering.

Benefits & conditions

401(k), The target hiring compensation range for this role is $45.00/hr to $55.00/hr. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
