Job description
- Perform and support technical security assessments of computing environments
- Identify vulnerabilities and areas of non-compliance with established information assurance standards and regulations
- Support the development and validation of system security requirements
- Assist with the design and integration of cybersecurity and information assurance solutions
- Support security engineering activities across networking, computing, and enclave environments
- Incorporate cybersecurity requirements into systems deployed to operational environments
- Assist systems architects and developers with implementing appropriate security functionality
- Support development and implementation of security architectures
- Identify and mitigate system security threats and risks throughout the program lifecycle
- Support security planning, risk analysis, risk management, certification, and authorization activities
- Review security documentation for completeness and compliance
- Participate as a security engineering representative on multidisciplinary engineering teams
Requirements
Education & Certification Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. Four years of relevant ISSE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Must meet applicable DoD 8570 Information Assurance Systems Architect and Engineer (IASAE) requirements.
Clearance Requirements: Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) clearance required for classified assignments. A full-scope polygraph may be required depending on the specific assignment and access requirements., * Knowledge of information systems security engineering principles and practices
- Understanding of system security requirements, risk management, and vulnerability assessment
- Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements across computing, networking, and enclave environments
- Ability to collaborate with systems engineers, architects, developers, and cybersecurity personnel
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to support security engineering activities throughout the system development lifecycle
Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community environments
- Familiarity with RMF and authorization processes
- Knowledge of secure system architecture and design
- Experience supporting classified information systems
- Familiarity with security assessment and vulnerability management processes
