Staff Engineer Survivability - Software Integration (CA or FL)

Experteer Overview In this role you will help shape survivability and electronic warfare capabilities by developing software interfaces and integration for EW subsystems. You’ll work on cross-disciplinary teams to translate requirements into software specifications and verify allocations, collaborating with EW suppliers to integrate multi-function RF systems. The position involves hardware-in-the-loop and digital simulation to mature algorithms and interfaces for airborne platforms. Based in San Diego, CA or Melbourne, FL, you’ll contribute to mission-critical programs and innovative solutions. Compensation / Benefits * Develop, analyze, and implement requirements for software interfaces and performance of EW subsystems * Collaborate with EW suppliers and cross-disciplinary teams to integrate avionics and mission subsystems * Support maturation and verification in digital simulation and hardware-in-the-loop environments * Contribute to algorithm development and system functionality and efficiency * Create supplier documentation, including procurement specs and statements of work * Document designs with schematics, diagrams, and specifications * Perform analyses, trade studies, and performance estimation for components and subsystems * Assist in integration and testing of HW subsystems and components to meet platform goals Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field and 12 years of related experience OR Master’s in STEM with 10 years OR PhD with 8 years * Knowledge of electromagnetics in RF spectrum (VHF through Ka) * Experience in RF/EW applications and modeling in Matlab, Python, or C/C++ * Requirements decomposition and tracing from system to component * Supplier documentation, performance-based specs, and statements of work * Supplier/subcontract management and multi-disciplinary teamwork * Experience designing/integrating/testing RF equipment for airborne platforms * Familiarity with RF sensing modalities and digital signal processing * Knowledge of systems engineering methods including requirements analysis and interface control * Active Top Secret/SCI clearance and ability to obtain required program access Key requirements * health insurance coverage * life and disability insurance * savings plan * Company paid holidays * paid time off (PTO)
