Experteer Overview As a Mechanical Engineer on Google’s XR team, you contribute to the design, analysis, and prototyping of head-worn devices and opto-mechanical subsystems. You collaborate with vendors and cross-functional partners to bring parts from concept to mass production. You drive robust, scalable designs that support compact, consumer-ready hardware. This role offers impact across miniaturization, manufacturing processes, and platform-aligned hardware development. Compensation / Benefits * Lead architecture, design, manufacturing, and validation of head-worn devices (waveguide, display engines, Rx lenses) * Drive miniaturization and robust designs for opto-mechanical subsystems * Advance DFM and DFA from NTI to prototype to mass production with internal and external partners * Develop requirements and tolerance analyses to ensure performance and reliability in mass-produced hardware * Support team growth and enable individuals to succeed Tasks * Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering or related field * 12 years designing mechanical components and assemblies (plastic/metal parts, PCBs, flexes) * 12 years of experience with CAD tools (NX, Solidworks) * 12 years with DFM or DFA * 4 years leading multiple engineering teams Key requirements * bonus target * equity * benefits
