Job description

Experteer Overview As a Network Administrator at SMX, you will support on-site network operations at Patuxent River NAS, ensuring secure, reliable connectivity for DoD-related programs. You will work within a skilled team to deploy technologies, troubleshoot networks, and uphold security standards. You will engage in incident investigations and STIG compliance while documenting processes to enable consistent service delivery. This role offers hands-on impact in a mission-driven environment with opportunities to grow technical expertise. You will contribute to secure, high-availability network infrastructure that supports critical operations. Compensation / Benefits * Manage and administer network devices and deploy new technologies * Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, and application-level connectivity/performance * Maintain boundary security and participate in security incident investigations * Audit STIGs and update STIGs on assigned devices * Review vulnerabilities and plan/execute remediation * Maintain documentation including SOPs, work instructions, and desk guides * Handle additional tasks as directed by customer POCs, Team Lead, and Management Tasks * Top Secret clearance (Secret required to start) * IAT Level 2 or higher certifications (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP) * 3+ years networking device configuration and support * 3+ years IP networking design * 3+ years experience with virtual server environments * Knowledge of DoD IA practices and STIG * Ability to work with peers and management to ensure a positive customer experience * Ability to follow defined customer processes and work through documentation gaps * Experience with high-availability network infrastructures Key requirements * health insurance * paid leave * retirement
