Reporting to the Teamleader Application Support , the Application Engineer will serve as a technical expert for X-Rite’s color management solutions across Iberia. In this customer-facing role, you’ll help customers get the most from X-Rite’s hardware and software by providing technical consultation, demonstrations, training, troubleshooting, and application support. You’ll work closely with Sales, Customer Support, and R&D to understand customer needs, develop effective workflows, and help shape future product improvements.

This position is remote/field-based in Spain or Portugal , with primary responsibility for customers across Spain and Portugal and alignment with the broader EMEA team.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

  • Provide high-level technical support for X-Rite hardware and software, troubleshooting complex challenges related to color measurement and color management systems.
  • Partner with Sales during pre-sales activities, providing technical consultation, supporting product selection, answering technical questions, and delivering product demonstrations.
  • Conduct engaging product demonstrations, training sessions, and webinars for customers, both remotely and on-site.
  • Work directly with customers to understand their specific applications and develop or support workflows that integrate X-Rite solutions into their processes.
  • Collaborate with R&D and Product Development by sharing customer feedback, product performance insights, improvement opportunities, and new feature requests.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including application notes, user guides, and best-practice procedures that help customers optimize their use of X-Rite solutions.
  • Travel to customer sites across Spain and Portugal for product installations, troubleshooting, and hands-on training, with occasional travel to trade shows and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related technical field .
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in application engineering, technical support, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of color science and color management principles , including experience with color measurement technologies such as spectrophotometers and/or colorimeters .
  • Understanding of digital imaging technologies and printing processes , ideally gained within the printing, packaging, textiles, automotive, or related industries.
  • Fluent Spanish and professional-level English are required; Portuguese is preferred.
