Job description
We are currently recruiting for a Systems Analyst to join our IT team based at our Head Office in South Shields. As an IT Systems Analyst at Barbour, you will work with a good degree of independence to deliver high-quality IT solutions that meet business needs and support strategic goals. Reporting to the IT Manager - Business Systems, you will be responsible for analysing, designing, and improving business systems to support Barbour’s operational and strategic objectives. Serving as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, you will ensure system solutions are aligned with business needs, scalable, secure and fit for purpose. The role is based at our Head Office in South Shields and the expectation is 4 days in the office and 1 day of homeworking, * Analyse existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, risks and improvement opportunities, translating requirements into technical specifications.
- Partner closely with developers, infrastructure teams, vendors and third-party suppliers to support system design, configuration, integration and testing activities.
- Participate in system implementation, upgrades, migrations, and impact assessments while developing and maintain comprehensive system documentation.
- Provide 2nd or 3rd line support for business-critical applications, lead user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide post-implementation support and continuous improvement.
- Ensure solutions comply with organisational standards and regulatory policies while supporting and collaborating with Associate and Senior Analysts.
Requirements
- Education & Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or equivalent experience. BCS Business Analysis, ITIL Foundation or Agile / Scrum certifications desirable.
- Technical & Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of IT systems, integrations, databases, APIs, interfaces, and SDLC Agile or ITIL frameworks.
- Enterprise Applications: Hands-on experience with enterprise applications (ERP, eCommerce, Finance, or HR systems) and managing delivery with 3rd parties.
- Analysis & Documentation: Proven expertise in requirements gathering (workshops, interviews, process mapping), impact assessments, and reading technical documentation / diagrams.
- Communication & Collaboration: Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical business partners.
- Working Styles: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while remaining aligned with team and managerial direction.
