Job description
Experteer Overview As a Backend Engineer on the Driver Engagement Team, you help shape tools and insights for drivers within a cross-functional, urban-mobility focused squad. You will design and evolve systems that boost driver loyalty, performance metrics, self-service capabilities, and supported workflows, impacting thousands of drivers and millions of customers. You’ll work across the product lifecycle to deliver scalable, high-quality backend solutions and contribute to a state-of-the-art codebase with modern AI-enabled practices. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to influence everyday mobility at scale. Pay / Benefits * Own feature development from concept through deployment and monitoring * Design and build systems based on product requirements; refactor when needed * Improve performance and resource usage across DB access, caching, messaging * Collaborate in an Agile environment and participate in ceremonies * Ensure code quality through automated tests and security risk remediation * Review code and contribute to team service improvements * Share learnings and best practices within the engineering chapter * Participate in incident response, hotfixes, and keep documentation up to date Tasks * Passion for Kotlin or Java * Experience with Spring Boot or similar frameworks, automated tests, and CI/CD * Familiarity with monitoring tools (Grafana, Datadog, Kibana) * Knowledge of microservices architecture * Experience with RESTful APIs, transactions, and resiliency * Experience with messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ * Creativity and proactive collaboration in a fast-paced environment * Excellent written and verbal English communication Key requirements * Flexible working arrangements * LinkedIn Learning * Sabbatical & special leave policies * WeRoad partnership * Birthday, 24th + 31st December off * Mobility Credit
