Job description

Responsible for the design and development of model-based functional software design/development and configuration for driveline electronic control systems and components. Working from broad specifications, performs, and is responsible for engineering activities such as developing & testing the model-based software in matlab/Simulink/Targetlink for All-Wheel-Drive Torque Distribution systems. Modeling in Simulink, Stateflow and or Targetlink - Design, Development and problem resolution of new and existing electronic controls systems and components for powertrain, eDrives and chassis products. Ensure configurable, extendable/reusable eDrive controls based on the Magna’s Platform Software concept. Modelling and controls development in Simulink. Design, develop and problem solve to create or modify existing power electronics controls systems and components for Transfer Case and eDrive products. Cascade of specifications from system to components to software requirements, software unit test cases (MIL-SIL), software integration test strategy and delivery of product design to the specification as per Automotive SPICE. Participating or conduct research for new tools, best practices and alternative approaches to optimal electrical components and software development.

Requirements

Master Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or foreign educational equivalent. Two years of experience in the position offered, or in a similar position, such as Vehicle Controls and Development Engineer. Experience must include developing control algorithms and hardware actuator models for advanced driveline products (traditional and electric driveline) and diagnosing and resolving complex logic issues within control algorithms, addressing functional gaps and improving software behavior for mechatronic components across multiple driveline platforms.
