Job description

Global ScienceTechnology, Inc. seeks a Systems Network Administrator in support of the NASA NRESS II contract network support to supplement the expertise and support existing on the contract. The NRESS team provides level 1 support to keep the contract networks running day to day and provide basic troubleshooting, however from time to time there is a need to acquire higher levels of support. This position will supplement the contract network expertise on an as-needed basis., Cisco

  • Provide general support for Cisco configuration changes to support the daily operational needs of NRESS staff and the VPN access to NRESS
  • Support for patching and responding to findings from security scans
  • Provide support for troubleshooting incidences. NRESS staff will be the first level of support but may require an escalation of support with a 24x7 response time.
  • Assist in the replacement, modernization, and refresh of the existing NRESS network

Juniper

  • Provide general support for Juniper configuration changes to support the daily operational needs of the NSPIRES website
  • Support for patching and responding to findings from security scans
  • Provide support for troubleshooting incidences. NRESS staff will be the first level of support but may require an escalation of support with a 24x7 response time.
  • Assist in the replacement, modernization, and refresh of the existing NSPIRES network.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science and a minimum of 5 years of work experience with networks with 2 years of experience specific to Cisco and Juniper technology.

  • Experience with CiscoJuniper networks
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
