Job description

  • Assess end-to-end factory operations across injection moulding lines, identifying gaps in quality, throughput, and equipment effectiveness (OEE).

  • Define and present a phased digital transformation and operational excellence roadmap aligned to business priorities.

  • Design data engineering pipelines to capture, integrate, and structure machine, process, and quality data.

  • Develop predictive models for defect detection, scrap reduction, predictive maintenance, and yield optimization.

  • Recommend productivity and cycle-time improvement initiatives grounded in lean and Six Sigma principles.

  • Architect Industry 4.0 / IIoT solutions (sensors, edge, MES, SCADA integration, digital twin readiness).

  • Establish manufacturing quality frameworks (SPC, FMEA, root-cause analysis, closed-loop quality control).

Requirements

  • 10+ years in manufacturing, with strong hands-on experience in injection moulding (or precision polymer/extrusion)

operations and process engineering.

  • Proven track record in manufacturing quality (SPC, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, root-cause methodologies).

  • Demonstrated data engineering capability: data ingestion, integration, warehousing, and pipeline design for manufacturing/OT data.

  • Experience building predictive/ML models for quality, maintenance, or yield.

  • Delivered productivity improvement programs (OEE, cycle time, scrap, downtime reduction).

  • Strong grasp of Industry 4.0 / IIoT architectures - MES, SCADA, IIoT platforms, digital twin concepts.

  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

  • Ability to translate operational assessments into executive-ready roadmaps and business cases.

  • Willingness to work onsite in North Carolina for the full 3-month engagement.
