Job description

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee a large-scale data center deployment and operations workforce supporting one of the world’s leading cloud and AI infrastructure environments.

This leader will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a 24/7 technician organization comprised of Data Center Technicians and Inventory & Logistics Technicians operating across multiple shifts. While technical work direction and project priorities will be provided by the client, this individual will serve as the employer-side leader responsible for personnel management, workforce performance, operational execution, quality standards, shift coordination, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, highly dynamic environments where uptime, deployment velocity, quality, and operational excellence are critical to success.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Personnel Management

Lead a large technician workforce operating across multiple shifts and campuses

Directly manage Shift Leads and other frontline leaders

Conduct performance management, coaching, career development, and employee engagement activities

Drive accountability, attendance, professionalism, and cultural expectations across the organization

Partner with recruiting teams to support workforce planning, hiring, onboarding, and retention

Operational Execution

Ensure deployment and operational objectives are executed safely, efficiently, and with a high standard of quality

Monitor workforce productivity, execution consistency, and operational performance

Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions

Drive adherence to SOPs, MOPs, client requirements, and quality standards

Ensure effective shift handoffs and cross-shift communication

Workforce Planning & Coverage

Maintain adequate staffing levels across all shifts

Manage scheduling, coverage planning, and escalation support

Anticipate workforce risks and develop mitigation plans

Support scaling efforts as demand and site capacity continue to grow

Client & Stakeholder Partnership

Serve as the primary operational liaison between client leadership and delivery teams

Participate in operational reviews, business updates, and escalation discussions

Provide timely communication regarding risks, workforce concerns, and execution challenges

Build trusted relationships with site leadership and cross-functional stakeholders

Operational Excellence

Develop reporting and operational dashboards to monitor program health

Analyze KPIs, trends, and workforce data

Lead root-cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives

Establish repeatable processes that improve quality, efficiency, and scalability

Escalation Management

Own major workforce and delivery-related escalations

Coordinate response efforts across shifts and teams

Maintain calm and decisive leadership during high-pressure situations

Ensure issues are resolved quickly and thoroughly while minimizing operational impact.

Requirements

5+ years of people leadership experience

3+ years managing large operational teams in a 24/7 environment

Experience leading multiple shifts or geographically distributed teams

Experience supporting mission-critical operations, logistics operations, infrastructure operations, manufacturing operations, or data center environments

Proven experience managing frontline supervisors, leads, or managers

Leadership & Operations

Strong performance management and employee development experience

Experience building accountability systems and operational processes

Demonstrated success driving quality, productivity, and operational performance

Strong escalation management and conflict-resolution skills

Experience balancing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Communication

Executive-level communication skills

Experience interacting directly with customers, site leaders, and senior stakeholders

Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences

Availability

Ability to support a 24/7 operation when critical business needs arise

Comfortable working occasional off-hours to support escalations, major deployments, or business-critical events Industry Experience

Data center operations experience

Hyperscale or cloud infrastructure experience

Inventory and logistics operations experience

Critical environment operations experience

Large-scale deployment experience

Technical Familiarity

Understanding of rack deployments and hardware lifecycle management

Familiarity with asset management systems

Basic understanding of networking, server, and infrastructure concepts

Knowledge of SOP/MOP-driven operational environments

Exposure to DCIM, ticketing, or workforce management systems

Certifications

PMP

Lean Six Sigma

Benefits & conditions

$50/hr to $60/hr. - Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
