Staff Software Engineer

Experteer Overview As a Staff Software Engineer on Procore’s Custom Fields team, you help customers tailor our SaaS tools to their business processes, shaping how construction workflows are digitized. You’ll collaborate closely with product, UX, and infrastructure teams to design scalable solutions that solve real-world problems for thousands of users. You lead by example, mentoring engineers and driving high-quality delivery using modern web tech and CI/CD practices. Compensation / Benefits * Set development standards and collaborate with infrastructure, platform, and other software teams * Perform code reviews and pair programming to raise quality * Partner with Engineering, Product, and UX to design user-centered solutions * Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team * Leverage stack including Ruby/Rails/Node.js/React/Postgres on AWS, with Kubernetes and Java/TypeScript, CircleCI, ArgoCD, and in-house CD tooling * Apply AI-assisted development workflows across planning, implementation, testing, and incident response to boost velocity and quality Tasks * 8+ years of software engineering experience; strong fundamentals; experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, JavaScript, Java, Node.js or similar * Professional experience with React, Node.js, Ruby/Rails, or Java * Experience applying AI-assisted SDLC practices to improve velocity and quality * Ability to balance technical, analytical, and product goals and craft solutions accordingly * Experience at scale with software, platforms, and infrastructure; handling thousands of hosts and millions of users * Proven track record leading large initiatives and driving course-corrections as needed * Expertise in modern web development, including development, testing, staging, deployment, and monitoring * Experience building CI/CD systems at scale Key requirements * base pay * equity compensation * bonus incentive compensation
