Data Engineer (SMTS / LMTS) - MDM

Experteer Overview You will help design, build, and operate AI-powered MDM capabilities at Salesforce, shaping how data entities are identified, enriched, and governed across a global ecosystem. You’ll work within the MDM Engineering team to deliver scalable data integration, entity resolution, and hierarchy management, leveraging AI tools to boost developer productivity. This role blends hands-on engineering with architectural leadership to drive end-to-end data platforms and governance. You’ll collaborate with product, data governance, and systems teams to deliver impactful data-driven solutions in a fast-paced environment. Compensation / Benefits * Design and maintain end-to-end MDM integration systems and AI-powered developer tools * Implement entity resolution, golden record lifecycle, and hierarchy processing * Build and optimize data models, APIs, and integration patterns for MDM requirements * Develop and operate data pipelines (Airflow, ETL/ELT, CDC) and API orchestration layers * Integrate with third-party data providers (Dun & Bradstreet, Moody’s, Leadspace) for enrichment and hierarchy management * Ensure production-grade quality with monitoring, security-by-design, and operational excellence * Drive AI-assisted software engineering adoption to improve productivity and delivery speed * Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and release activities * Troubleshoot production issues and implement scalable solutions * Collaborate with globally distributed teams across time zones * LMTS additional: define technical strategy for MDM domains and lead cross-functional engineering standards * LMTS additional: provide technical leadership across internal teams and partner with stakeholders to align architecture with business priorities Tasks * 8+ years (SMTS) or 10+ years (LMTS) in software/data engineering, integration, or MDM * Experience leveraging AI-assisted development platforms (Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot) * Strong understanding of Generative AI in software engineering contexts * Hands-on Java, REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration patterns * Experience with MuleSoft, API orchestration, Airflow, ETL/ELT, and large-scale data engineering * Experience with Kafka or similar event-streaming tech, CDC, and event-driven architectures * Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and cloud-native development * Strong SQL, data modeling, and distributed data processing knowledge * Excellent communication and collaboration skills * Related technical degree (implied) Key requirements * medical, dental, vision * mental health support * paid parental leave * 401(k) and stock purchase program * life and disability insurance * flexible benefits details available
