Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will advance simulation capabilities for complex aerodynamic systems within ORNL’s Advanced Engineering Technologies group. You will develop and use CFD tools to model flows relevant to nuclear nonproliferation, collaborating with investigators and sponsors to push research impact. You’ll validate models, streamline workflows, and communicate findings to the development team. This position offers hands-on software development in a research setting with opportunities to shape tooling and contribute to R&D projects. You’ll work in a mission-driven environment focused on security and scientific discovery. Compensation / Benefits * Develop and apply simulation software to model complex system flows for nonproliferationrelated problems * Act as a heavy end-user of generated tools and participate in model validation activities * Identify workflow improvements and report issues to the development team * Collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams and brief results across project lifecycles * Document work in technical reports, papers, and presentations; contribute to research proposals * Interface with principal investigators, engineers, fabricators, modelers, and test campaign personnel Tasks * MS degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field * minimum of two years of related experience * excellent verbal, presentation, and writing skills * ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance Key requirements * medical and retirement plans * flexible work hours * on-site fitness * cafeteria facilities * Educational Assistance * Relocation Assistance
