Senior Embedded Linux Engineer - Connectivity

Experteer Overview In this role you will design and implement the software and firmware for Verkada devices, guiding from architecture to production. You’ll own end-to-end engineering cycles, collaborating with product and cross-functional teams to ship reliable, high-performance hardware features. Your work directly supports a scalable, privacy-conscious AI security platform used globally. You will mentor peers and explore new technologies that advance product quality and sustainability. Compensation / Benefits * Build software and firmware for Verkada devices and ship known features end-to-end * Own scoping, architecture, low-level design, and trade-offs with test-driven and data-driven methods * Debug and solve complex problems with solid logical reasoning * Collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams to deliver user-centric features * Mentor other engineers and contribute to other stack areas as interests allow Tasks * 4+ years of embedded engineering experience * Proficiency in C, C++ or Go * Experience owning software features or projects with production launches * Experience with hardware development concepts (SPI, I2C, UART) and embedded Linux (preferred) * Networking and wireless communication experience (preferred) * Go and Python programming experience (preferred) * Experience reading schematics (basic EE skills) (preferred) * Willingness to work onsite five days per week Key requirements * Healthcare plans with employer-covered premiums * HSA and FSA options * Mental health support * Paid parental leave and fertility benefits * Flexible PTO and holidays * Professional development stipend
