Experteer Overview In this role you will design and implement the software and firmware for Verkada devices, guiding from architecture to production. You’ll own end-to-end engineering cycles, collaborating with product and cross-functional teams to ship reliable, high-performance hardware features. Your work directly supports a scalable, privacy-conscious AI security platform used globally. You will mentor peers and explore new technologies that advance product quality and sustainability. This is an opportunity to shape embedded systems that operate at device and cloud scale. Compensation / Benefits * Build software and firmware for Verkada devices and ship known features end-to-end * Own scoping, architecture, low-level design, and trade-offs with test-driven and data-driven methods * Debug and solve complex problems with solid logical reasoning * Collaborate with product management and cross-functional teams to deliver user-centric features * Mentor other engineers and contribute to other stack areas as interests allow Tasks * 4+ years of embedded engineering experience * Proficiency in C, C++ or Go * Experience owning software features or projects with production launches * Experience with hardware development concepts (SPI, I2C, UART) and embedded Linux (preferred) * Networking and wireless communication experience (preferred) * Go and Python programming experience (preferred) * Experience reading schematics (basic EE skills) (preferred) * Willingness to work onsite five days per week Key requirements * Healthcare plans with employer-covered premiums * HSA and FSA options * Mental health support * Paid parental leave and fertility benefits * Flexible PTO and holidays * Professional development stipend
