Software Engineer [Multiple Positions Available]

Experteer Overview In this role you will design and lead enterprise-scale backend and cloud systems, ensuring high availability, security, and alignment with Chase’s strategy. You will provide hands-on technical leadership, set architectural standards, and drive end-to-end delivery across cross-functional teams. You’ll translate technical trends for executives, oversee scope and timelines, and continuously improve platforms with emerging technologies. The role combines architecture, cloud expertise, release management, and strict regulatory compliance to deliver scalable financial solutions. Compensation / Benefits * Design and deliver enterprise-scale backend and cloud systems with high availability and security objectives * Provide architectural vision, standards, and reviews; enforce code quality and align with enterprise strategy * Collaborate with business, product, and technology stakeholders to translate requirements for executives * Drive full software lifecycle from requirements to technical specs and optimization * Own end-to-end release management including planning, execution, validation, and post-release monitoring * Maintain regulatory compliance and implement advanced security protocols * Oversee deployment to staging/production and ensure quality, compliance, and business outcomes * Lead and contribute to modernization efforts using emerging technologies and frameworks * Architect event-driven systems and manage data flows using AWS services and Kafka-based solutions * Implement CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and observability to maintain system health and rapid incident response Tasks * Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field plus 3 years of relevant experience * or Bachelor’s degree in the same fields plus 5 years of relevant experience * 3+ years designing large-scale, high-availability enterprise systems * Experience with Java 17+, Spring Boot/Security, microservices, REST, PostgreSQL * Cloud experience with AWS including Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, KMS, Step Functions, ECS, EKS * Knowledge of Terraform, CI/CD tools (Spinnaker, Jenkins, AWS CodeDeploy) and deployment automation * Experience with frontend frameworks and integration for hybrid apps * Security, PCI DSS, GDPR, Zero Trust, encryption, PKI * Experience with monitoring/observability (Splunk, Dynatrace) and code reviews * Experience with K8s, Kafka/AWS MSK, and event-driven architectures * Experience with banking/rewards platforms; performance tuning for JVM * Familiarity with test frameworks (Mockito, JEST, Playwright) and API testing Key requirements * comprehensive health care coverage * retirement savings plan * tuition reimbursement * on-site health and wellness centers * backup childcare * mental health support
