Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer - Integration and Test (SYS) within the Systems domain, supporting one of our premier programs in the Space Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (SISR) business. In this role, you will support the integration, verification, and validation of complex systems by developing test plans and procedures, evaluating system functions and interfaces, developing test environments, and troubleshooting technical issues. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams and customers to support system integration and test activities throughout the development lifecycle. The work is on-site in Aurora, CO.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate with a cross-disciplinary engineering team to support the development and delivery of advanced ground system solutions.
  • Perform system integration and test activities as a member of an Agile Release Train (ART) team within the Systems (SYS) domain.
  • Identify technical issues during software and hardware integration and collaborate with engineering teams to develop and implement solutions.
  • Develop and execute automated test scripts to support system verification and validation.
  • Troubleshoot and debug system-level issues to ensure reliable system performance.
  • Contribute to Agile development activities within a collaborative, cross-functional program environment.

Requirements

Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, * Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience

  • Experience supporting systems integration and testing for software products in an Agile, continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) environment, including regression testing, test scripting, and test automation.
  • Experience supporting software development within mission domains such as command and control ground systems or space-based Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms.
  • Hands-on experience performing systems integration and test engineering activities.
  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging software-based systems or products.
  • Experience working in Linux Red Hat environments and developing scripts using Python and/or Perl.
  • Active and transferable Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. government-issued security clearance is required prior to the start date.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience supporting satellite ground system development or operations.
  • Experience supporting mission domains such as command and control, mission management, ground systems, or space-based Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) platforms.
  • Experience working in DevOps and/or DevSecOps environments within an Agile development framework.
  • Experience using Atlassian tools, including Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Cucumber, Gherkin, and Zephyr.
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, and/or Python, with familiarity working in Linux operating systems and cloud-based environments.

Benefits & conditions

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
