VMware / Virtualization Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you design, implement, and manage large-scale VMware-based virtualized environments, ensuring high availability and performance. You will work on modernization initiatives, collaborate with network and storage teams, and support hybrid cloud integrations. You’ll tackle complex infrastructure challenges while contributing to resilience and efficiency across data center operations. Compensation / Benefits * Design, deploy, and manage VMware vSphere infrastructure (ESXi, vCenter Server) * Administer and maintain clusters, HA, DRS, and vMotion * Manage VM provisioning, templates, snapshots, and lifecycle * Perform host upgrades, patching, and firmware updates * Configure and manage VMware HA, DRS, FT; participate in Site Recovery Manager (SRM) and DR planning * Configure and manage VMFS, NFS, vSAN; work with SAN/NAS storage; NSX (preferred) and vDS VLANs * Monitor performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, capacity planning, and documentation * Implement VMware security best practices: RBAC, hardening, patch management; audits * Automation with PowerCLI; Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible); hybrid cloud integration (VMware Cloud, Azure/AWS); Kubernetes/Tanzu (preferred) * Provide L2/L3 support, root cause analysis, on-call rotation if applicable Tasks * 5-10+ years VMware administration experience * Hands-on with VMware vSphere (6.x/7.x/8.x), ESXi, vCenter * Experience with HA, DRS, vMotion; patching and lifecycle management * Storage experience (SAN/NAS, vSAN preferred) and networking basics (TCP/IP, VLANs) * Windows/Linux VM environments * Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities Key requirements *
