Job description
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support a large-scale Department of Defense modernization effort. This individual will provide technical leadership across systems engineering activities, ensuring successful planning, integration, implementation, and sustainment of complex IT and mission systems. The ideal candidate has experience working in enterprise environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting system development throughout the lifecycle. This role requires a strong systems engineering foundation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders., Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options. 401k retirement account access with employer matching will start after 90 days if elected . Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law. Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering efforts across the full system development lifecycle.
- Analyze customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions and system designs.
- Support system architecture, integration, implementation, testing, and sustainment activities.
- Collaborate with engineers, administrators, cybersecurity teams, and program leadership to ensure successful delivery of system capabilities.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, engineering artifacts, diagrams, and system specifications.
- Conduct technical assessments, system evaluations, and engineering reviews to identify risks and recommend solutions.
- Assist with infrastructure modernization, cloud migration, and technology refresh initiatives.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide recommendations for resolution.
- Brief technical findings and project updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field
- 5-7+ years of Systems Engineering experience supporting enterprise IT, software, infrastructure, or federal programs.
- Experience supporting projects through the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Strong understanding of systems engineering methodologies, principles, and best practices with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with requirements gathering, system design, integration, testing, and implementation.
- Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure, networking, operating systems, and cloud technologies.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and engineering artifacts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
