Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will design and implement OpenBMC firmware for NVIDIA GPU server platforms, focusing on ARM architecture. You will bring up BMC firmware, analyze performance, and develop manageability features across server components, collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet product requirements. You’ll implement enterprise-grade monitoring solutions using DMTF standards and contribute to hardware-software integration and security alignment. This position offers an opportunity to influence the reliability and security of NVIDIA’s server platforms at scale. Compensation / Benefits * Design and implement OpenBMC firmware for GPU server platforms (ARM focus) * Bring-up BMC firmware, performance analysis, and develop manageability features * Review code and design documents; craft QA test plans and ensure design/testability * Design solutions for system components (CPU, GPU, memory, storage, NIC, BMC, FPGA/CPLD) for enterprise readiness * Develop and optimize active monitoring BMC solutions using DMTF standards (MCTP, Redfish, SPDM, PLDM) * Instrument code, create unit tests, and maintain test case reports * Provide software quality reports via static analysis, code coverage, and CPU load metrics * Coordinate with security and hardware teams to align with security goals and HW architecture Tasks * Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience * 8+ years of experience * BMC firmware development on X86 or ARM platforms including BMC-BIOS communication, thermal and power management, firmware update, device monitoring, and firmware security * Hands-on board bring-up with device drivers (I2C/I3C, SPI, PCIe, SMBus, Mailbox) and device trees for U-Boot and Linux kernel * OOB or in-band system management experience with IPMI, KCS, DMTF Standards (PLDM, MCTP, Redfish), PMBus, NVMe * Understanding of REST architecture, JSON over HTTPS, and OAuth * Strong programming and scripting skills in C/C++, Bash, Python, Go for both Linux user-space and kernel-level work * Solid Linux fundamentals, distributions, upgrade mechanisms, and image deployment * Excellent written/oral communication, teamwork, quality focus, and self-motivation Key requirements * base salary * equity * benefits * remote work options * career growth * competitive compensation
