Job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to build your software/applications knowledge and experience, working with staff in services across the whole council. Based in Fairfield House as part of the Business Applications Team within Corporate Resources, you will provide support for staff utilising HR/Payroll systems including iTrent, Talentlink, OHIO and Gauge. This post will also play an important role supporting the delivery of an ongoing transformation project around HR/payroll processes and procedures. You will provide day to day support to users and advise on associated business processes. You will support the implementation, operation and ongoing development of these systems/applications (please note that this does not include the support of digital hardware and infrastructure) and support any relevant projects. You will deliver training to system users as required and ensure that any required periodic processing and production of reports is completed accurately and according to timetables. Please note that although the post is designated as hybrid working, you will be required to work in the office on a regular basis. Requirements
Jobholders must be educated to SVQ level 3/ in a relevant subject such as HNC Information Technology, Information Management, Business Information Systems, or evidence of equivalent competency along with along with evidence of numeracy and literacy at Higher Grade., Essential: Evidence of advanced MS Excel skills. Evidence developed interpersonal skills to agree and implement changes in procedures. An understanding of the relevant legislation associated with the retention of information. Desirable: Evidence of the ability to produce and manipulate data for a variety of uses using various query and reporting tools. Previous Systems Administration experience including the provision of helpdesk service to colleagues and other stakeholders Experience of the delivery of staff training. Experience in the design and production of training/procedural/guidance documentation.

Contract Status: Permanent Hours of Work: 36 hours per week Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 Weeks per year: 52 Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale. Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £32,554.06 per annum.
