We’re seeking an experienced contract UI/UX designer to support a product team that currently has no dedicated design or UAT owner.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of hands-on product design experience with enterprise or internal business applications - not primarily consumer or marketing work - and can operate independently with minimal day-to-day product management support.

Core skills include user research and discovery (stakeholder interviews, workflow shadowing, and journey mapping), translating ambiguous business requirements into wireframes, interactive prototypes, and production-ready designs in Figma, and building or extending a reusable component library and design system.

The contractor should be comfortable partnering directly with engineering leads and business stakeholders to define acceptance criteria and should be able to own user acceptance testing end to end: writing UAT scripts, coordinating and facilitating test sessions with business users, capturing and triaging defects, and driving issues to closure.

Experience designing for operational or manufacturing environments - shop-floor users, high-throughput data entry, dashboards, role-based workflows, and non-desk/tablet form factors - is strongly preferred.
