Technical Quoting Specialist

As a Technical Quoting Specialist, you will work closely with customers, sales professionals, and tooling engineers to develop accurate technical quotations for standard and custom tooling solutions. This position combines hands-on knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and tooling with technical analysis, customer support, and quoting responsibilities. You will review customer drawings and specifications, determine tooling feasibility, develop detailed quotes, and provide technical recommendations regarding tooling selection, materials, coatings, tolerances, and design considerations. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and excellent communication skills., * Analyze customer specifications and drawing files to determine feasibility.

• Generate detailed and accurate quotations for standard and custom tooling.
• Quote tooling including:
• Punches
• Dies
• Special forms
• Press brake tooling
• Collaborate with engineering and sales teams to ensure proper design considerations and accurate costing.
• Provide technical guidance regarding:
• Tooling selection
• Materials
• Coatings
• Tolerances
• Assist customers and internal teams with tooling applications and technical questions.
• Troubleshoot tooling applications and address performance or design concerns.
• Calculate load requirements.
• Verify product specifications to ensure tooling meets customer and company standards.
• Communicate technical information clearly to both customers and internal teams.

Must-Have Skills, Experience, and Education

• Minimum 5 years of technical experience.
• Technical experience with tooling, sheet metal fabrication, or related manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret:
• Blueprints
• CAD files
• Customer drawings
• Product specifications
• Ability to conceptualize punch and die designs based on customer requirements.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and manufacturing concepts.
• Ability to analyze customer specifications and determine tooling feasibility.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with customers, sales teams, and engineering personnel., * Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Hands-on sheet metal fabrication experience.
• Experience with tooling for forming and bending applications.
• Punch and die tooling experience.
• Press brake tooling experience.
• SolidWorks experience.
• SAP experience.
• Microsoft Excel experience.
• Experience developing custom tooling solutions.
• Experience working directly with customers in a technical support or quoting environment.
