Job description

HireNow Staffing is actively recruiting a highly skilled Enterprise Data Protection Automation & Application Security Engineer to support one of our valued client partners within a global Data Security & Protection organization. This highly visible contract opportunity is designed for a hands-on security engineer who combines software development, cybersecurity engineering, automation, and enterprise data protection expertise. The selected professional will build scalable security applications and automation that help protect sensitive enterprise information, improve security operations, and reduce cyber risk across complex global environments. This is not a remote position. Candidates must be local to the Plano, Texas area and available onsite three days per week., * Develop scalable applications, automation, and security tooling supporting enterprise data protection initiatives.

  • Build security-focused software using Python, JavaScript, and object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C++, or C#.
  • Engineer solutions supporting DLP, cloud data protection, data classification, encryption, access governance, and related cybersecurity programs.
  • Develop API integrations and automation that collect and report security KPIs and KRIs.
  • Automate security processes to improve operational efficiency, visibility, and risk reduction.
  • Support security engineering across AWS, Azure, and/or Google Cloud environments.
  • Work within Git-based development environments and modern CI/CD pipelines.
  • Apply containerization technologies such as Docker to application and automation workflows.
  • Evaluate vulnerabilities and implement security improvements across applications, platforms, and enterprise environments.
  • Collaborate with Security Operations, Enterprise Architecture, Legal, Privacy, Platform Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Develop system design documentation, architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and data-flow documentation.
  • Apply secure development principles involving authentication, authorization, encryption, hashing, secrets management, and credential protection.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience within cybersecurity, software development, computer engineering, application security, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • Strong hands-on programming ability with Python and JavaScript.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one object-oriented programming language: Java, C++, or C#.
  • Experience with enterprise data security technologies involving DLP, CASB, SASE, DSPM, PAM, or comparable security platforms.
  • Experience with endpoint security technologies and security-focused software development.
  • Practical experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automation tooling, and Docker/containerization.
  • Strong understanding of encryption versus hashing and secure cryptographic practices.
  • Strong understanding of authentication versus authorization.
  • Knowledge of secrets management, vault technologies, salting, and risks associated with weak hashing algorithms.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and cross-functional communication capabilities.
  • Must be local to the Plano, Texas area and able to work onsite three days per week.
  • Must meet the specified U.S. work authorization requirements., * Experience developing internal cybersecurity applications or enterprise security automation.
  • Advanced Python development experience within cybersecurity environments.
  • Experience integrating security platforms through APIs.
  • Experience developing KPI/KRI reporting and security analytics automation.
  • Exposure to Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience supporting large-scale global enterprise cybersecurity programs.
  • Security+, CEH, CISSP, OSCP, CISM, CISA, GPEN, GWAPT, or another relevant cybersecurity certification.
  • Strong experience collaborating across cybersecurity, privacy, legal, architecture, and engineering organizations.

  • Demonstrates strong hands-on Python and JavaScript programming skills.
  • Has practical experience with Java, C++, or C#.
  • Understands enterprise data protection technologies such as DLP, CASB, SASE, DSPM, or PAM.
  • Can build automation and security applications rather than solely administer cybersecurity products.
  • Understands cloud security, CI/CD, APIs, Git, Docker, and modern engineering practices.
  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of fundamental application-security concepts.
  • Can successfully complete a hands-on Python coding assessment.
  • Lives locally in the Plano area, can work onsite three days weekly, and meets the specified work authorization requirements.
  • Provides an active LinkedIn profile with the application., * A strong combination of application development and enterprise data security engineering rather than experience concentrated exclusively in one discipline.
  • Advanced Python automation experience supporting cybersecurity operations.
  • Direct experience engineering solutions around DLP, DSPM, CASB, SASE, PAM, or enterprise data-protection platforms.
  • Experience developing API-driven security automation, KPI/KRI reporting, and operational security tooling.
  • Strong cloud engineering exposure across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Hands-on experience with endpoint security and secure application development.
  • Relevant professional cybersecurity certifications.
  • Experience supporting complex, global enterprise security environments.
  • Ability to clearly explain architecture decisions, security controls, vulnerabilities, and technical solutions during an onsite technical interview., * Fewer than four years of relevant cybersecurity, software development, computer engineering, or application-security experience.
  • Insufficient hands-on Python or JavaScript programming ability.
  • No practical experience with Java, C++, or C#.
  • No meaningful exposure to enterprise data security platforms or technologies.
  • Experience limited to security administration without sufficient software development or automation capabilities.
  • Candidates unable to complete an onsite Python coding interview.

Benefits & conditions

Compensation: $62.00-$65.00 per hour Schedule: 40 hours per week | Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM-5:00 PM CST Employment Type: Contractor | Pay-As-You-Go Contract Duration: 6-12+ months with potential extensions. Anticipated Contract Period: August 10, 2026-February 10, 2027, with extension potential. Work Location: Hybrid - Plano, Texas | 3 days onsite per week Applicant Location: Candidates must currently be local to Plano, Texas and comfortable meeting the onsite requirement.
