CIVIS Digital Campus Architect

• Leadership and Coordination: Lead and coordinate the cross-institutional Digital Campus Team under the overall responsibility of the University of Salzburg and in close collaboration with the CIVIS Alliance-Team
• Interoperability Pilots: Design and implement pilot projects to achieve full digital connectivity among partner universities in the areas of identity management, credentials, and content management
• System Architecture: Conceptually further develop and scale the core infrastructure of the CIVIS Digital Campus, including tools such as AGORA, Moodle, Nextcloud, Fullfabric, and RegApp (in close collaboration with Aix-Marseille University, who hosts the central services)
• Standardization: Implement European standards such as eIDAS 2.0, Erasmus Without Paper (EWP), EMREX, and the European Student Card (ESC)
• Networking: Conduct coordination visits (“missions”) to partner universities in order to engage with and connect IT departments, student services, and international offices and networking at the European level with complementary European initiatives (such as EDEH, FOREU4ALL and aUPaEU) and other European University alliances
• Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with data protection, information security, accessibility, and usability requirements across the digital infrastructure
• Dissemination: Raising the visibility of our initiatives and communicating achievements effectively, both internally and externally.

Research Field Computer science

Education Level Bachelor Degree or equivalent, Admission Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a comparable qualification with a focus on IT architecture
• Knowledge and experience in IT applications development and management
• Experience in leading international teams, * In-depth knowledge of higher education systems interoperability and identity management solutions, experience with European higher education standards (EWP, ELM, Europass) is a strong advantage
• Ability to align technology and architecture decisions with the universities strategic objectives and long-term development goals
• Excellent coordination and communication skills for working in a multinational team
• Ability to prioritize initiatives that can deliver tangible results and measurable value within the next two years
• Very good command of English (project language); knowledge of German is advantageous due to the leadership role of the University of Salzburg
